About & Contact

As a non-binary person I've found gender binary gym settings filled with harmful ideas of gender and body image.

I've always wanted a space where I wouldn't feel constantly worried about my gender presentation and my weight, where there were people that wanted to be healthier and peaceful. I wanted a place without the "bigger!, faster!, harder!, stronger!" militaristic mentality.

I've been lifting weights since I was 4 years old and have participated in a spectrum of physical activities since then. As a youth I played soccer and ran track, in college I powerlifted and held 2 Vermont State American Powerlifting Association records for my weight class and gender presentation at that time. After college I participated in Crossfit and completed a Spartan Beast.

It was during this time that I decided to find a healthier balance in my life. I was tired of the "go to failure- 'till you drop" talk and I was constantly sore after my workouts. I was also experiencing a ton of gender dysphoria at the gym and started the process of medically transitioning.

After recovering from my gender affirming surgery I began rock climbing with my partner and we participated in a kettlebell class together. It was through this class and coming across mobility movements and self-myofascial release that I began to feel and see a balance in my body. I wasn't super sore after workouts and if I was sore I had learned some methods to increase mobility in those areas which help allivate it. The mobility movements also increased my ability to move more effectively and safely.

My plans are crafted with the body and mind as an interconnected system, not just separate or isolated muscle groups. Clients leave feeling more confident and revitalized in their body, and more comfortable performing full body movements; from pulling something out from underneath the couch to picking up the grandkids.
